At Boulder Air Tours we have years of professional backcountry flying experience. We also have exceptional knowledge of the Boulder area and of an impressive variety of outdoor pursuits. 

Andy Young

Andy has called Boulder “home base” since 1984.  While he has traveled and worked in many places around the world (including 20 stints in Antarctica) Boulder is the place he always comes back to.  He has been flying for over 20 years, with a particular focus on mountain and backcountry (often called “bush”) flying. 

Since 2010, his professional work, when not flying for Boulder Air Tours, has focused on flying people into, out of, and around the backcountry of Alaska.  He has also flown for environmental organizations in Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras, Costa Rica and Canada (in addition to the United States). 

Andy is a rock climber, mountaineer, skier, and motorcyclist as well, and is intimately familiar with the pursuit of these activities in the Boulder area.  As such, he is uniquely qualified to show you some of the best spots for these activities from the air.
